Familiar tropes, but they don’t click
This book had all the pieces you’d need for a perfectly, angsty romance. But it reads wrong. A little disappointing because I loved most of the books in this series. It also doesn’t help that there’s a lot of French and Spanish in the book and that breaks your flow.Overall, a very average read.

I usually love Alden’s books. But this one was too tropey. And the wine and art details were distracting. And the characters were too predictable and clichéd.

🩷What could be more romantic than Valentine’s Day in Paris? Tara meets Gustave and has a one night stand and has no clue he is her boss till she meets him again!🩷 with so much chemistry Gustave and Tara decide on an affair and to keep it a secret! she’s only in Paris for six months restoring art that his family owns. it’s not long till Tara falls in live with him, but with the Paparazzi everywhere they go, and Gustave’s gorgeous ex-wife who wants him back, Tara feels like she’s heading for heartbreak, after a story is leaked to the press Gustave says lots of truly awful things to Tara that he can never take back. ( Gustave figures out who responsible for leaking the story) Tara is blacklisted from the louvre! when Tara arrives back in the US her family rallies around her offering her so much love and support! I loved her Family they were Awesome!🩷 Gustave finally decides to go after what he wants and that’s definitely Tara! after much Groveling they get their HEA! he even works in her Families Restaurant to prove to her he’s all in!i really liked Gustave’s 18 yr old son, he’s so mature and only wanted his Dad to be happy!🩷 this was such a good book and all the descriptions of Paris and the delicious food was amazing as always and a definite reread for me!

They thought it would be one night…A wonderful story that takes you on a journey through chemistry, connection, expectations, drama, heartbreak, realization, grovel and love.Gustave is human. He has flaws, believes the wrong people, has to shoulder too many expectations and lost sight of what is important, but he learns, evolves and grows and that’s exactly the reason why I inhale and love these books.And the cherry on top is the descriptive way the places are involved in the stories. They aren’t random, they enrich the stories. I felt myself being with them in Paris, despite that I never have been there.

4.5I’ve read so many (almost all) of Alden’s books, and one of the things i really appreciate is that even though we know the hero is going to have to grovel hard, there isn’t A strict formula to the books themselves. Love is in the air has more of the relationship building, and I am here for it.I deducted half a star because I got annoyed by the translations.While I appreciate the list of translations at the end of the chapter, I think it could have been handled better. Personally I ended up using the translator function on my kindle, because I’m not going to flip around in an ebook. Paperback I absolutely would have. Also, in some of her other books (That’s Amore) it feels like there is enough context around the words to gain understanding.Overall, I love this couple and look forward to more new books from Maya. She’s consistently a great read.

Love doesn’t care and wraps them in a secret whirlwind romance that defies everything.I absolutely loved this book and Tara and Gustave. The pull to be together kept the wrapped up tightly. The tension, the banter, the romance, everything was amazing amd brought you right into the story. Right smack dab in the middle of Paris with them.I cant wait to see what Maya Alden will give us next.
