A laugh-out-loud fake dating romantic comedy that’s utterly irresistible
‘One of the best fake date romances I have come across’ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reader Review
Can a fake date fix everything?
On a day Abbey thought would be the best of her life – her boyfriend is surely going to propose tonight, right? – it all falls apart: he tells her he’s met someone else. And then to make things worse, she loses her job.
In an act of reimagination, she splurges her wedding savings on renting an apartment in a building she’s always dreamed of living in and kits out her wardrobe to match.
But when her family invites her ex – a close family friend – plus a date(!!) to her parents’ vow renewal, Abbey realizes her façade won’t be enough. There’s nothing for it but to fake one more thing – a romance. And she knows exactly who to ask… her hot new neighbor…
A laugh-out-loud fake-dating rom com, with a chemistry you’ll be thinking about long after turning the last page. Perfect for fans of The Hating Game and Elena Armas.

Malini –
a feel good story ❤️
this book is a charming and entertaining romance that’s perfect for fans of light-hearted, clean romances with a slow burn. Despite a slightly rushed ending, the book’s engaging characters and delightful chemistry between Abbey and Ted make it a worthwhile read. This book is for anyone looking for a feel-good-story.

it had warmth, humour, and a refreshing take on romance
✨3.5/5A dream proposal gone wrong, a job lost, and one fake date later — Abbey’s messy, hilarious comeback makes for the perfect feel-good rom-com.I wanted to love this book. And I did enjoy a lot of it — the setting, the slow burn, the quirky premise — but there was one major element that held me back from fully falling for it.Let’s start with what I loved:✔️ The characters felt refreshingly real.✔️ The MMC was such a pleasant surprise — an introvert who genuinely disliked all things pretentious and wasn’t your usual overconfident alpha male. It was honestly so nice to read a romance where the guy wasn’t a walking cliché.✔️ The FMC felt grounded and relatable, and their chemistry? Quiet, steady, and strong — the kind that builds slowly and feels earned.✔️ I also adored the idea of two self-proclaimed nerds falling for each other. No overdone popular-guy-meets-shy-girl dynamic. Just two people who get each other — and that made their connection feel even more believable.✔️ And fake dating? Always a win in my book — and it was done with a lot of charm and humour here. Now, here’s where it lost me a bit.The mistaken identity plot started out fine — I understood the circumstances, and it added tension. But dragging it out for that long? That was a stretch. And when the truth finally came out, their reconciliation felt way too fast and far too easy. It didn’t land for me emotionally — and considering how big the lie was, I expected a more layered or earned resolution. That moment completely shifted how I felt about the story overall.Still, I did enjoy the read — it had warmth, humour, and a refreshing take on romance. If that one plot point had been handled with more weight, this might have been a solid favourite.

Corny but excellent read
It’s an old trope but very well executed..good time pass…and very light and frothy….I liked it and stereotypes lived up to the billing

Fun read
It was a simple, fun read. Nothing extraordinary, but as far as romcoms go, definitely something that can be adapted to a Netflix movie/series. It was enjoyable!
